Atiku expresses confidence at getting justice at Supreme Court

Atiku expresses confidence at getting justice at Supreme Court

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 2019 general election, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed belief that he will get justice in his suit against President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Atiku had sued President Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission, and the All Progressives Congress in the aftermath of Buhari’s declaration as the winner of the presidential election. He is seeking to upturn the victory and is asking the court to declare him the winner.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle today, the ex-vice president appreciated his supporters and urged them not to underestimate the effect of their belief that justice will be done.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has raised the alarm over alleged manipulation in the composition of the seven-man Supreme Court panel that will hear Atiku’s appeal.

The coalition’s national spokesman, Imo Ugochinyere, at a press conference in Abuja today said the group has uncovered a plot to constitute members of presidential election panel with justices whose only reason of being selected is the guaranteed assurance that no matter what the law says, the President must be returned and affirmed against all known principles of the constitution.
