The All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted the statements made by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, on insecurity in the country.
Secondus, after what he described as a cursory assessment of the state of affairs in the nation, took a swipe President Muhammadu Buhari ‘s led administration, saying there is no indication that the country has a substantive Commander-in-Chief.
He bemoaned what it called worsening security situation in the country following an increasing spate of blood-letting in some parts of the country.
To this end, Secondus tasked Nigerians to condemn Buhari’s recent trip to the United Kingdom, saying a patriotic President would have stay put in the land to find lasting solutions to the security situation in the country.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, in his reaction, however described the remarks by Secondus as an attempt by the main opposition party to seek relevance following its loss at the poll. According to him, Nigerians are aware of who caused the problems and who is trying to find a solution to them.
The APC spokesman added that rather than engaging in such an argument, the ruling party is busy with how to ensure that the safety of lives and properties of the people is guaranteed.
