The gubernatorial candidate of Accord party in Kwara state, Prince Ayorinde Adedoyin has offered to pay the thirty thousand naira minimum wage being discussed by the Nigeria Labour congress (NLC) for workers in Kwara state when elected.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin, Adedoyin noted that the eighteen thousand naira being paid workers as minimum wage with the current economic reality in Nigeria is inhumane considering the fact that the workers too have families, and extended relations to cater for.
While noting that workers anywhere in the world are engine room of the government, the gubar aspirant noted that those voted into office are living in affluence. Adedoyin therefore criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for their lack of concern for the welfare of Nigerian workers.
He said his promise to pay the thirty thousand naira is not a political gimmick but a product of his economic blueprint to make Kwara, the centre of prosperity for all.
