AbdulRazaq to women: Vote for gender friendly party in 2023

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has renewed his administration’s readiness of mainstreaming women into governance in the state

Abdulrazaq gave this indication while receiving Award of Most Gender Friendly Governor in Nigeria bestowed on him by the Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ at the Grand Finale of its Press Week Dinner and Award Night, held at Banquet Hall, Ilorin

Governor Abdulrazaq said the enactment of Kwara State Political Offices Gender Composition Act by Kwara State House of Assembly was to provide a legal framework for women to be engaged in decision making process in the state

He therefore challenged women folks to always exhibit their potentials and managerial traits to expunged them from disadvantaged segment of the society

Also speaking, the state Chairman of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, said the Governor was considered eligible for the award due to the pride of place he created for women in his administration.

He also noted that the AbdulRazaq’s government had carved a niche for itself for the positive turnaround witnessed in the state owned media houses.

The NUJ Chairman, however, pleaded with the Governor to initiate a policy that would allow civil servants in government parastatals rise to the pinnacle of their careers of being appointed Permanent Secretaries.

Others awarded at the event include the Turaki of Ilorin, Mallam Saliu Mustapha; Chief Executive Officer of Kam Holdings, Dr Kamoru Yusuf; Engineer Bolakale Kawu and a retired multitalented broadcaster, Alhaji Fatai Adeniyi Dan-Kazeem.
