Grammy Award-winning singer, Wizkid, also known as Starboy has won the Best African Act award, year 2021 edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA).
The Star Boy records CEO, born Ayodeji Balogun, edged out Tems, Focalistic, Amaarae and Diamond Platnumz in the tightly-contested category.
The 2021 MTV EMAs held at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary on Sunday night, November 15, 2021.
He added: “Thank you for supporting Wizkid, thank you for supporting Starboy, thank you for supporting big Wiz. Africa to the world!”.
The event, which aired on MTV in 180 countries, featured performances from several global stars.
