Workers under the aegis of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) and Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations (AUPCTRE), Kwara State Water Corporation Unit have applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his quick intervention in settling deductions from their salaries.
They said the payment of twenty-seven-point-seven million naira out of outstanding forty-seven-point-four million naira deductions is a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to rewrite the wrong of the past.
This was contained in a joint statement issued by Chairman, ASCSN Kwara Water Corporation Unit, Comrade Ahmed Kazeem, and Chairperson, AUPCTRE, Kwara Water Corporation Branch, Mrs Funmilayo Olanrewaju.
The statement noted that the workers have received an assurance that the remaining nineteen-point-seven million naira will be paid in installments for a period of five months.
It commended the Governor for rehabilitating some of the water works in the three senatorial districts of the state and for providing enabling environment for workers to perform their duties in the various water works. The water corporation workers, however, made passionate appeal to the Governor to approve their promotion financial benefit, which was effected after nine years of stagnation.
