A Closed-Circuit Television footage believed to be that of the bloody Offa bank robbery has surfaced online.
The four-minute video, which has been viral on the Internet since Wednesday, revealed the moment the robbers attacked one of the five affected banks.
The unverified video clip of the incident showed that the robbers struck at about four-forty-one pm. The gunmen had neutralised the security post with what appeared to be grenades before entering the bank and operating without interference.
Armed robbers had last week Thursday invaded five banks in Offa, Kwara State, killing scores of residents, including policemen, bank workers and passersby. The assailants were also said to have carted away millions of naira before making their escape.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ado Lawan, who put the casualty figure at seventeen, said nine policemen died during the attack, although other sources claimed more. The police have since arrested suspects believed to be connected to the robbery.
