The new Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA), Mr Umana Umana on Tuesday assumed office as the Chief Executive of the authority even as all nominees sent to the Senate by President Mahammadu Buhari for confirmation as members of the reconstituted board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) were on Tuesday cleared by the joint Senate and House of Representatives committee on NDDC.
Those cleared and now waiting swearing in by the President include, former Senate Leader, Senator Ndoma Egba as Chairman, former Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Obong Nsima Ekere as Managing Director/CEO, Adjogbe Ajenakevwe as Executive Director in charge of projects from Delta state, Mene Ienyie Derek, Executive Director/Head Finance and Administration, Rivers state.
Cleared for confirmation as Commissioners to represent the oil producing states are Donatus Enyinnah (Abia state), Hon Frank Samuel George (Akwa Ibom state), Brambaifa Nelson (Bayelsa state), Sylvester Effefiom Nsa (Cross River state),Ogaga Ifowodo (Delta state), Uwuilekhue Saturday (Edo state), Osita Bonaventure Izunaso (Imo state), Olatokunbo Ayotunde Ajasin (Ondo state) and Harry Iboroma Dabibi (Rivers state)
Others include Bernard Banfa (North-central zone), Yahaya Mohammed (North-east zone), Mustapha Dankadai (North-west zone),Igo Weli (Niger Delta region), Mahmoud Isa-Dutse (Federal Ministry of Finance) and Abdul-Kazeem Kasumi Bayero (Federal Ministry of Environment).
All nominees will be sworn in by President Mahammadu Buhari at a date to be announced soon.
