Suspected Herdsmen Attack Plateau Community, Kill Many

At least fifteen people are reported to have been killed in an attack allegedly carried out by suspected herdsmen in Ancha village of Maingo, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to an eyewitness report, the attack was carried out last night. It is suspected to be a reprisal, following an earlier dispute between the herdsmen and members of the community over the death of a Fulani boy.

Meanwhile, Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Anthony Atolagbe has called on the Ancha village to remain calm as security operatives have swung into action after the attack. Atolagbe during a meeting with the youths today urged them not to take laws into their hands as security operatives are investigating the attack.
