The residents of Mgbuji community in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, are under terror impacts as suspected herdsmen attack the community on Thursday. At least three residents have been confirmed dead and many injured with houses and farmlands razed.
Few days to the attack on the community, three personnel of the community’s Neigbourhood Watch group were killed by suspected kidnappers who happened to abduct two members of the community on January 1st.
Some community members claimed that the exact number of casualties was still unknown because some members of the community were missing, despite the fact that tangible dread prevented them from conducting comprehensive searches for their loved ones in the nearby bushes for fear of another attack.
Abubakar Lawal, Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Police Command, led a team of state security agency chiefs to the disturbed community on Friday for an on-the-spot assessment of the level of damage.
Despite the fact that a police report listed the number of casualties from the latest attack at two, the state’s security authorities promised that enough security measures have been put in place to prevent repeat occurrences.
