Saudi Arabia Extends Landing Permit Deadline for Nigeria

Thea Sudi Arabian General Authority for Civil Aviation, (GACA), has approved extension of landing permit for Nigerian Hajj carriers under the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON).

The commission made this known in statement signed by NAHCON’s Assistant Director, Public Affairs Hajiya Fatima Usara.

According to the statement, the extension will commence from today the 4th of July, to Wednesday the 6th of this month.

She noted that the extension was necessitated by excessive flight cancellations and flight delay, adding that of the forty three thousand and eight pilgrims expected to arrive Saudi Arabia from Nigeria; only twenty-seven thousand three hundred and fifty-nine including five hundred and twenty-seven staff as well as committees and board members, under the government quota has been conveyed.

Meanwhile, data has shown that, from 10th to 13th of June, nine flights were cancelled due to reasons ranging from inability to secure Basic Traveling Allowance (BTA), insufficient funds for visas, unavailable PCR test result, among other reasons.
