Robbers behead policeman, guard in fuel station attack

Armed robbers have attacked the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation mega station in the Asa Dam area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

It was reported that the robbers during their operation which occurred on Saturday, beheaded a police sergeant and a security man assigned to the station.

Eye witnesses who witnessed the incident revealed that the heavily armed men struck when workers of the station had left for their respective homes, making it easy for them to perpetrate their planned dastardly act.

The petrol station had been under lock throughout Sunday throwing residents into panic mode that another round of fuel scarcity is looming.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Kwara Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations to fish out the culprits are underway.
