President Buhari urges the Nigerian Army to remain focused on eliminating Boko Haram Insurgents

President Muhammadu Buhari has told soldiers that the war against Boko Haram is a “must win”. The president said this today while delivering the keynote address at the 2018 edition of the chief of army staff annual conference in Maiduguri, Borno state.

He said his government will do everything within its powers to support the army, disclosing that he is making efforts to improve the entitlements of soldiers. The President encouraged the soldiers to “keep up the good work and shun distraction”.

President Buhari regretted that some soldiers paid the supreme price in the course of the operations against Boko Haram terrorists. He commiserated with the families and relatives of the slain officers killed Boko Haram insurgents during an attack on their base in Melete area of Borno State about two weeks ago.

The President also advised members of the military to be non-partisan before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
