The Management of Federal Polytechnic, Offa in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State has suspended two students of the institution, Tajudeen Selim and Temitope Omotosho, who were suspected to be cult members.
It will be recalled that the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aminu Saleh, had on Tuesday announced the arrest of Selim – the Vice President, Students Union Government of the polytechnic. The CP, who spoke through the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, said Temitope Omotosho, Adewusi Vincent, Olanipekun Abimbola and another suspect, Ayomide Ololade, were also arrested for their alleged involvement in cult-related activities.
However ,Selim denied the allegations, saying he was arrested at the scene where he had gone to make peace.
But ,the management of the polytechnic, in a statement by the school’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Aroye, stated that before the students were paraded by the police, the institution had reported the incidence of forceful initiation of students to the police based on complaints to the institution.
