Police service commission approves redeployment of four commissioners

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the redeployment of four Commissioners of Police for effective and efficient policing.
The Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, made this disclosure in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

Among those affected officers are: Commissioner of Police, Armament, Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, who is now in charge of the Edo State Command; David Akinremi, the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Force Secretary, is now in charge of the Taraba Command.

Others are: Garba  Umar, redeployed from Bayelsa  Command to Anambra Command and Lawan Ado, Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, FCIID, is now to head the Kwara Command.

The statement noted that the postings have been communicated to the IGP for implementation in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Commission, Musa Istifanus.

Chairman of the Commission, Dr Mike Mbama Okiro, urged the affected officers to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation.

He also asked that they settled down immediately and face squarely the peculiar challenges of their respective State Commands adding that they would be held responsible for any proven act of omission or commission in their states.

Sir Okiro said the Commission will continue to play a fatherly role and will support and encourage them in the discharge of their duties.
