The Assistant Inspector General of police Olakunle Oladunjoye in charge of Ekiti, Kogi and Kwara has urged officers and men of Kwara state police command to be disciplined.
Speaking at the occasion of his familiarization visit to the state police headquarters to meet with all police in the state, Oladunjoye advised the officers to maintain the equipment in their custody.
Oladunjoye, who promised federal government’s commitment towards providing more equipment for the officers, backed community policing. He called on the officers to cooperate with General public in order to ensure efficient service delivery. He however charged them on financial management.
Speaking at the event, the state commissioner of police, Fafowora Olaniyi highlighted the challenges being faced by the police in the state, ranging from land disputes, chieftaincy tussles, herdsmen and farmer clashes, automobile accidents due to bad road and careless drivers, thuggery among others.
Speaking on the support given to the state police command, Olaniyi commended the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris for his support during the last bye-election which according to him enabled the police to perform effectively.
