The Federal Road Safety Corps has said that the fuel tanker fire on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been brought under control and normalcy had returned at the scene of the incident.
FRSC said this in a statement signed by Florence Okpe, FRSC Public Education Officer (Ogun Command) today.
Okpe said that the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at KM 30 of the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway around Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun State.
The accident involved two vehicles and seven persons. But only one person was injured and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
According to the statement released by FRCS, the cause of the accident is suspected to be excessive speed, which led to loss of control.
‘‘The Fire Service was invited and they extinguished the fire.The scene of the crash has been cleared and traffic restored on the Expressway.’’
The injured victim was rescued and was taken to Famobis Hospital Lotto, near Mowe, Ogun State.
