PDP raises alarm over controversial Ayedaade result; Police arrest suspect

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, agents at the state collation centre led by Mr Dele Adeleke and PDP stalwarts are insisting that something must be done by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to rectify the error discovered in the election result of Ayedaade Local Government.

The call follows concerns over the results read out by the returning officer for Aiyedaade Local Government Area.

It was observed that there was a disparity of one thousand votes in the initial figures and the returning officer was asked to re-check and reconfirm the figures.

In the process, a man suspected to be an INEC member of staff, identified as Salawu Kolawole, alleged that his superior at Aiyedade LGA asked him to destroy and remove the results that were pasted on the wall, detailing the actual result of the poll.

The INEC official was caught while tearing off the election results and confessed that he was sent by his superiors before being whisked away by security men.

Popular Nigerian singer, and nephew to the PDP candidate, David Adeleke, Davido, also joined party supporters to share the video and call for a fight against injustice.
