PDP bans Fayose’s aides from voting at primary

Ahead of the governorship primary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti state, the National Secretariat of the Party (PDP) has disqualified appointees of Governor Ayo Fayose from voting at the exercise.

According to the party, this became necessary in order to ensure transparency in the primary election.

The disqualification was revealed following the release of the list of delegates by the party’s national leadership which was signed by the National Organising Secretary, Col. Chris Akobundu (retd).

The decision he said was reached by the National Working Committee, NWC, in consonance with the Ekiti PDP Peace and Reconciliation Committee led by former Senate President, David Mark.

It is learnt that that only serving and former elected officials would be allowed to vote at the primary scheduled for tomorrow.

Among prominent aides of Fayose who have been asked to stay away from the venue of the primary, include Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Modupe Alade and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Dipo Anisulowo.
