Osinbajo’s brother, others make SAN list

Younger brother to acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, Akinlolu Oluyinka Osinbajo, the Executive Secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC), Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, and 89 other lawyers have been shortlisted for the 2017 award of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

In a statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Ahmed Gambo Saleh, yesterday, the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) said the shortlisted candidates qualified after the filtration stages.

The Chief Registrar noted that all qualified candidates shortlisted were graded under the category system of the LPPC Guidelines, 2016.

The two categories of short listed candidates are the advocate and the academic. Under the advocate, no fewer than 68 candidates were shortlisted, while 24 candidates were shortlisted under the academic category, which amounts to 91.

Saleh said the general public is at liberty to comment on the integrity, reputation and competence of any of the candidates.
