The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed one person dead and seven others injured when an uncompleted three-storey building collapsed at a popular GSM market in Beirut Road, Kano.
NEMA Kano Territorial Coordinator- Nuradeen ABDULLAHI, confirmed the incident to reporters last night.
Mr Abdullahi, while giving an update on the collapsed building, said the crash occurred at about 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to him, eight persons were rescued and taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, for treatment noting that one person died and six persons with minor injuries being treated and discharged, while one person with multiple fractures was still receiving treatment.
He added that search and rescue operations were ongoing to rescue those trapped beneath the rubbles.
