The Kwara state chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives has dismissed the rumor that a member of the association working with a private hospital was arrested for selling a placenta to a Muslim cleric in Ilorin.
The state Chairman of the association Comrade Joseph Adekanye in a statement issued in Ilorin today said the arrested female attendant is not a professional, qualified and certified nurse as widely reported in the media.
While noting that the last hope of any patient in any hospital is largely dependent on the Nurses, he said no trained nurse by any of the accredited colleges or school of nursing would endanger the lives of patients whose custody they are saddled to protect.
