The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have urged Nigerians to embrace peace to enable national development take place.

President of NLC, Ayuba Wabba, in his Eid-el-Fitri message urged Muslims and non-Muslims to imbibe the spirit of Ramadan fast, which teaches discipline, forgiveness, good neighbourliness, self-control and service to God and humanity.

In the same vein, the TUC has enjoined Nigerians to shun activities that are capable of throwing the country into major crisis.

It advised that we must as a country embrace peace, shun hate-speech and other divisive tendencies to achieve the next level of socio-economic development being craved for.

In a statement signed by its President, Bobboi Kaigama and General Secretary, Musa-Lawal Ozigi, as a congratulatory message to the Muslim faithful for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, the congress said to achieve the next level of socio-economic development, Nigerians must embrace peace.
