National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday disclosed that the total value of capital importation into Nigeria stood at two-point-one-four billion dollars in the fourth quarter of 2018.
This represents a decrease of twenty-five-point-zero-five per cent compared to the third quarter of 2018 and sixty-point-two-four per cent decrease compared to the fourth quarter of 2017.
Similarly, the total value of capital importation into Nigeria stood at sixteen million, eight hundred and twelve thousand dollars in 2018 compared to twelve million, two hundred and twenty-eight thousand dollars capital imported in 2017, representing thirty-seven-point-four-nine per cent growth year-on-year.
The United Kingdom emerged as the top source of capital investment in Nigeria in 2018 with six million dollars. This accounted for thirty-five-point-seven-four per cent of the total capital inflow in 2018.
