Following the insecurity challenges in the country, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed that the Abuja-Kaduna train service will resume with additional security measures, adding that the train service will resume operation soon.
While speaking to newsmen, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Mr Fidet Okhiria on Thursday said that the NIN number will be criteria to enhance the profiling of passengers, noting that the move would enhance the safety and security of rail users.
It is recalled that the Nigerian Railway Corporation suspended the Abuja-Kaduna route following the attack by Bandits on March 28, adding that three hundred and sixty-two passengers and twenty crew members were on board when the train was attacked.
