Niger state civil servants have ignored a court injunction that no strike should take place in the state and have embarked on an indefinite strike.
The state government had taken them to court, and the court had ruled that the strike planned by civil and public servants was null and void and of no effects.
But following the expiration of a two-week ultimatum given to the state government to pay the full salaries to workers in the state, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have now directed all state civil servants to proceed on an indefinite strike action.
