The Bayo and Bunmi Babalola Foundation (BBBF), has again awarded scholarships to pupils and students in Omu-Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The founder of the foundation, Engineer Pastor Sunday Adebayo Babalola while delivering his speech during the event today, revealed that 558 pupils and students who benefited from this year scholarship were drawn from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.
Babalola while charging the beneficiaries to remain studious, hardworking and God fearing added that the foundation has awarded scholarships to 1,853 students since its inception seven years ago from four local government areas in the State.
Speaking on the national issues, Babalola said it is lamentable that the World Bank latest report showcased that Nigeria is among the top 10 International Development Association borrowers.
He said the purpose of taking loans is not felt as there is no commensurate infrastructural development to the loans and the propensity to pay back is rather imagined than real saying Nigeria must retrace its steps from this type of financial and economic unsound management less the future of our children and generations yet unborn is mortgaged.
