The newly posted commissioner of the kwara state police command , CP Paul ODAMA has called on all political parties to ensure peace in the state, noting that the police is ready to provide adequate security for all politicians to guide against intimidation.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin today at the state police headquarters, the CP who said the police is set to organise a peace accord meeting with all political parties in the state, added that undertakings will be written and signed and noted that any party or politicians found violating the agreement will be sanctioned.
While warning all criminals to change their ways or get relocated, CP Odama assured youths in the state of the readiness of the command to respect their right, adding that no police officer is allowed to check phones of civilians except within the police stations.
According to our correspondent Olarotimi OSHIN, who was at the press briefing, the commissioner noted that the command is ready to advance the community policing mantra of the inspector general of police in order to ensure a crime free society.
