The Planning Committee of the 2018 Musical Society of Nigeria Festival of the Arts has promised to host its guests to a much-improved version of the annual event, which is expected to take place between October 17 and 28 in Lagos.
The Chairman of the committee, Dr. Femi Akinkugbe, said the festival will begin with two major events, the Youth Concert, which is a talent hunt and competition rolled in one and aimed at providing a platform for young and upcoming music artistes to express themselves, and the Festival Art Exhibition.
Also, a three-day musical drama production titled Legends, which highlights selected ancient African kings and kingdoms, will feature during the festival. On MUSON Day, scheduled for Thursday, October 25, the new MUSON Chamber Orchestra will be officially launched and followed by a cocktail.
The festival is expected come to a close on Sunday, October 28, with a performance by the MUSON Choir and the MUSON Chamber Orchestra.
