Minimum wage: FG promises to conclude talks before NLC ultimatum expires

The federal government has assured the organized labor that the tripartite committee on the national minimum wage will conclude its negotiation before the expiration of the fourteen-day ultimatum.

The tripartite committee chairman, Amal Pepple, gave the assurance while addressing journalists on Thursday in Abuja. The Organized labor had on the twelfth of September issued a fourteen-day ultimatum that it would embark on nationwide strike if the committee does not reconvene and complete its work.

The ultimatum will expire on the twenty-fifth of September. The chairman said the committee has worked hard and have finished its assignment but still needs approval from the Federal and state Governments.
