Though the baby was reportedly given water to drink but he kept crying, apparently yearning for milk that could sustain him.

Another version had it that the angry nursing mother, who was discharged the following day from hospital, had a verbal confrontation with her husband over his inability to provide milk for their baby.

Nurudeen Irked by the humiliation, charged out of his apartment on Easter Monday, with a promise to get the infant formula. He was said to have gone to a supermarket on Oduso close where he allegedly stole some tins of SMS Gold infant formula, unknown to him that he was being viewed from the Close Circuit Television installed in the supermarket.
