The Kwara State University Alumni Progressive Forum has cautioned Political Party supporters against the use of words that can lead to violence in the state in the 2019 general election. The group made the statement in a communique issued after their second ordinary general meeting In Ilorin.
The forum noted with deep concern the heightened apprehension and tension that has become synonymous with election seasons in Nigeria. They therefore resolved and informed its members and the general public to take note of words that can cause disaster in the nation.
The Forum also appreciated the great performance of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies for keeping lives and properties safe all times urging them to remain professional during the electioneering seasons and thereafter.
The group also appreciated the Senate president, Dr.Bukola Saraki for the establishment of the world class university(KWASU) during his time as the executive governor of the State. They also expressed gratitude to the Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for his numerous contributions to the school as well as the vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Abdulrasheed Na’Allah .
