Kwara to absorb disengaged N-Power Beneficiaries for KWARA CARES*

• Training comes up Thursday

No fewer than 150 youths are set to participate in the training facilitated by Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP) as potential agents to help with the data- capturing for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) Kwara State, a statement revealed on Wednesday.

KWASSIP is partnering with the Bank of Industry (BOI) in the facilitation of the training for KWARA CARES (Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus), a relief programme funded by the World Bank working with the Nigerian governments to provide relief for the poor and vulnerable and support of small- scale businesses in Nigeria.

“The training for the World Bank- assisted SME funds come up tomorrow with at least 150 young persons, most of which are exited NPower youths from batch A and B participating and getting engaged as agents afterwards, ” said a statement by the Ag. General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme Mohammed Brimah.

“We are considering absorbing the N-Power graduates. Aside from their wealth of experience, many people in this category are still looking for opportunities after being disengaged from the federal government scheme.

We are looking to give them a lifeline by enlisting them as agents for the Kwara Cares project. His Excellency the Kwara State Governor remains committed to sourcing for opportunities for this set of young men and women.

“This will complement the federal government’s efforts in developing manpower and reducing the unemployment rate in the state.”
