Following the clamouring of kwara residents on inadequate health workers in the state and as part of efforts to ensure dividend of democracy by improving the leaving standard kwara residents, the kwara state government has recruited two hundred and thirteen health workers.
Speaking at the state ministerial press briefing held at the state ministry of information and communication, the state commissioner for health Suleiman Alege explained that the employee includes medical doctors, lab scientist, and pharmacy technicians among others who according to the commissioner have been posted into various state hospitals.
On immunization programme, the commissioner called on parents and schools in the state to give room for children immunization in a bid to prevent polio.
While speaking on the current universal health coverage of federal government, Alege said the new programme would enable improvement by ensuring to monitoring of primary, secondary and tertiary health system.
In another development, the kwara state government has disclosed the intention of World Bank to assist the state with about eight hundred and fifty million naira counterpart fund on capital projects which will be used to carry out project across one hundred and ninety three words in the state.
As reported by our correspondent, the state commissioner for planning and economic development Wasiu Adewale said a department under the ministry of planning known as Kwara state community and social development Agency is working with World Bank on mode of receiving.
