Kwara Govt Inaugurates Governing Council for College of Education , Oro

 

The State Commissioner, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, has inaugurated the Governing Council for the State College of Education, Oro with a charge on members to discharge their responsibilities with utmost dedication.

Performing the inauguration in the conference room of the Ministry in Ilorin the state capital, the Commissioner charged the members to ensure that council meetings are held on quarterly basis,except in exceptional occasions.

The Commissioner stressed that their appointments should be seen as a call to service, pointing out that the present administration has zero tolerance for corruption and frivolous spending of public funds.

According to her , on no occasion should the council hold any crucial meeting where critical decisions are to be taken without the Ministry’s representative, who is supposed to serve as the eye of the government on the board.

The members of the Governing Council include Alhaji Ayinde Isiaka Abolarin as Chairman; Hajia Khadijat Ola-AbdulRaheem and Chief Julius Bamidele also as members.

Other members are Mr. Jimoh Bamidele Oba, member; Alhaji Mohammed Tsado Mohammed and Mrs. Ibikunle Dorcas Opeyemi.

Recall that the governing councils of Kwara State University, Malete; Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin and International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College Ajase-Ipo have earlier been inaugurated.

Responding on behalf of the members, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Alhaji Ayinde Isiaka Abolarin, thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led government for considering them worthy to be appointed to serve in this capacity.
