In order to enable Civil Servants in the state register to vote in the 2023 General Election, the Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has declared Friday July 29 work-free day.
The holiday comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC closes the continuous voter registration exercise on July 31, next Monday.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Rafiu Ajakaye, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq urged the people of Kwara State, especially the civil servants, to take full advantage of the holiday to
perform their civic duty of registering to vote.
The Governor will be contesting under the All Progressives Party (APC) against Yahman Abdullahi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hakeem Lawal of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and others.
