Kwara Government approves recruitment of one hundred and ninety seven medical professionals

The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the recruitment of about one hundred and ninety seven different medical professionals to boost the Human Resources and efficient service delivery in the health sector.

The approval according to Director General of the Kwara State Hospital Management Board Sa’ad Aluko includes employment of eight consultants, twenty-three medical doctors, and seventy-two nurses with varying specialties.

The approval also covers three senior registrar, thirteen pharmacy technicians, six pharmacists, four medical laboratory scientists, five scientific officers, twenty Community Health Extension Workers , twenty  Junior Community Health Extension Workers , and twenty-three hospital attendants.

The doctors include dentists to strengthen the new dental centre, while the eight consultants include two anesthetists to man the new Intensive Care Unit even as the government trains more perioperative/theatre nurses for the facility.

Aluko said the process has since begun, adding that most of the new officers and health workers will be taken from the large pool of Kwarans who had earlier applied and has been interviewed for the jobs last year.
