Kwara State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed five Commissioner Nominees submitted to the House by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The confirmation of the Commissioner Nominees was sequel to the thorough screening and consideration of the Nominees at the Committee of Whole during Tuesday ‘s plenary inline with section One Eighty-Two subsection One and Two of the Constitution.
The newly confirmed Commissioners by the House were Afeez Abolore Alabi, Ilorin East, Adenike Afolabi Oshatimehin, Ifelodun and Wahab Femi Agbaje, Offa, Gidado Lateef Alakawa, Asa and Ibrahim Akaje, Ilorin West.
Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Salihu therefore directed Clerk of the House Hajia Haleemah Kperogi to communicate notice of the confirmation to the Governor.
Meanwhile, the suspension of lawmaker representing Ilorin-South Constituency,Honorable Raheem Jimoh-Agboola of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been lifted.
Royal Times confirmed that the suspension of Honorable Agboola was lifted following an apology letter written to Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Salihu and read before his colleagues during Tuesday sitting.Honorable Agboola remains the only Peoples Democratic Party member in the House was suspended last year for criticising the state government.
Agboola was sent on indefinite suspension in July 2021 when he alleged on a radio programme that the All Progressives Congress’ government led by the governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, did not rehabilitate the road in Ilorin South constituency which he represented in the Assembly.
