The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the Kwara State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, winner of the governorship election held on Saturday.
The returning officer, Professor Liman Sanusi, said Abdulrazaq polled 331, 546 votes to emerge as winner of the highly anticipated election.
His counterpart and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Abdulrazaq Atunwa, polled 114, 754 votes to emerge as the runner-up in the election.
Sanusi who is Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa state, declared Abdulrasaq Abdulrahaman winner of the election having fulfilled the conditions as stipulated by electoral law.
Abdulrazaq led Atunwa with a margin of two hundred and sixteen thousand, seven hundred and ninety-two votes winning in all the sixteen local government areas in the state.
Agents of the PDP boycotted the venue of the result collation exercise.
Similarly, the All Progressives Congress, APC cleared all the 24 seats in the Kwara State House of Assembly.
Also announcing the result of house of house assembly , the state INEC resident electoral commissioner, Gabar Madami disclosed that the APC candidates won all the 24 House of Assembly seats as announced at various constituency collation offices across the state.
Out of the 24 candidates, 23 are males while Adeniran Marian Joy is the only female among them.
The INEC boss however commended Kwara residents, the security agencies, the journalists in the state for peace enjoyed throughout the period of the election.
