The Ilorin Innovation Hub has joined Afrilab Networks, the largest network of innovation hubs in Africa.
The FidelinfoNews gathered that the Ilorin Innovation Hub, which is the first ICT and Technology center established by the Kwara State Government Under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is set to transform Kwara state into an economically viable and self sustaining state through digital literacy, youth empowerment, innovation and technology, plays the function building technology skills among young Kwarans and incubating local tech start ups.
According to a statement by the Managing Director of the Hub, Temi Kolawole, the partnership “will bring in more attention and opportunities to the Kwara State Government innovation, which will also create a network for collaboration via which our youth can grow and succeed in the technology space”.
He also said “Kwara youths will have access to to broader sources of funding, remote work and jobs across the Afrilabs network, we are also sure that the Ilorin Innovation hub will be home to many events and programs within the Afrilabs Network by the time the construction of its modern permanent location is completed later this year”.
Some other Innovation hubs that are members of the Afrilabs Network are Impact Hub, Ventures Platform, Passion Incubator, iHub in Kenya an Mlab in South Africa.
