The Ilorin Bar has commended the Kwara State Government and the State Judiciary under the leadership of His Lordship, the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Honorable Justice S. D. Kawu for the elevation of some members of the bar from the position of Legal Research Assistants and Court Registrars to the Magisterial Bench.
While extending their heartfelt congratulations to their colleagues for this elevation, the Bar also prayed that the Lord Almighty will grant them the knowledge and wisdom in the discharge of their judicial duties.
In a statement issued by the chairman of the NBA Ilorin Branch, Muhammed Akande Esq., the bar subsequently urged the State Government not to desert its promise to release the present site of the Ministry of Commerce and Auditor General’s Office at Sulu Gambari Road, Ilorin to the State Judiciary.
It also pleads with the State Government to, as a matter of urgency, commence the renovation of the dilapidated court buildings in the State.
The bar further urges Justice Kawu to cement the legacy of the appointment of Legal Research Assistants and Court Registrars by appointing a new set of Legal Research Assistants and Court Registrars from the bar’s teeming young lawyers in Ilorin Branch.
