Governor Fayose of Ekiti urges President Buhari to heed call not to re-contest, condemns former President Obasanjo’s letter as self-serving

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the public statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, backing the call on President Muhammadu Buhari to consider his health and not seek re-election.

Governor Fayose in a statement issued by his chief press secretary in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital today said that President Buhari has overstayed his welcome and should hence go home to rest.

The vocal Governor however, took a short at former President Obasanjo, urging him to also heed his own advice and quit the political arena. He accused him of selling all his successors to Nigerians with failed assurances.

The Ekiti state Governor, who had earlier described the letter as a face-saving-one by the cabal that installed President Buhari, said the writer is not deserving of the letter and must not take credit for a decision already taking by Nigerians.
