Gombe governor vows to implement Ruga settlement policy

Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed disappointment with the Federal Government’s decision to suspend the Ruga settlement programme, which was initially planned to take off in some states of the country.

He spoke with State House correspondents on the suspended programme after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday.

Yahaya, who vowed to continue with the programe, disclosed that his state has already designated 200,000 hectares for the scheme, saying the herders deserve sympathy as they are also affected whenever conflicts occur.
