American fantasy drama television series, Game of Thrones, took the top spot with thirty-two nominations for the 2019 Emmy Awards. This series, aired on HBO also makes HBO the network with a record one hundred and thirty-seven nominations.
Gwendoline Christie, Alfie Allen and Carice van Houten from Game of Thrones nominated themselves for the awards after knowing they weren’t originally nominated by HBO for the Emmy Awards 2019. However, they finally received a nod and are now nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor, and Outstanding Guess Actress respectively.
‘Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé’ was nominated for six Emmys, and a win in most of those categories would go to her personally.
The 71st annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which honours the greatest television achievements of the past year, will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 22, 2019.
