Federal Government approves corps members’ inclusion in health scheme

The Federal Executive Council has approved the inclusion of National Youth Service Corps members in the National Health Insurance Scheme across the country.

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, disclosed this to State House correspondents today at the end of the council’s meeting presided over by the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Adewole said the approval was given in order to put a stop to unnecessary deaths being recorded among youth corps members across the country.

Adewole said the council also approved the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between his ministry and the United Nations Fund for Population Activities on the procurement and distribution of contraceptive commodities in Nigeria.
