Eid Kabir: Ram sellers laments low patronage in Kwara

By Imam Memunah and Babalola Omodolapo (Ilorin)

Some ram sellers in Ilorin, Kwara State have expressed their bitterness on sales for the forthcoming Eid Kabir celebration coming up on the 11th of August 2019.

According to the ram sellers, ‘’they are not seeing Sallah coming yet’’. They are complaining of low sales, customers coming to price without buying.

In an interview with some ram sellers at Mandate market, Ilorin, Kwara State, they want the Government to provide a tarmac and give them a permanent stay so as to improve their sales and promote their market.

According to the Baba Oja of Mandate market, “last year’s sales is better than this year’s own, we have customers trooping in last year unlike this year’s”.

In an interview  with Kenny Otunpopo, a ram seller at Adeta Roundabout he said “this year’s sale is not encouraging, this time last year we’ve travelled to the farm to bring more rams, cows, for sale.”

Meanwhile, in an interview at Adeta Roundabout, Ilorin, Kwara State, the ram sellers said they need funds from the Government. They also want Government to give Sallah bonus to workers; they believe this will increase their sales.
