The Edo House of Assembly has lifted the suspension on its former Deputy Speaker, Elizabeth Ativie, more than five months after she was impeached.
The House announced following a resolution on the recommendation of an ad hoc committee led by the Deputy Speaker, Victor Edoror, at the resumption of plenary on Monday.
Ativie, representing Uhunmwonde constituency under the All Progressives Congress, had on August 15 been impeached and suspended for three months, along with the former Speaker; Dr. Justin Okonoboh, and the ex-Majority Leader, Foly Ogedengbe, for alleged misconduct.
While the suspension of Okonoboh and Ogedengbe were later lifted, that of Ativie was extended by the House for allegedly failing to return the vehicles attached to her former office.
