Conscientious youth charges EFCC, and other security agencies to expose politicians involved in vote-buying

Conscientious youth charges EFCC, and other security agencies to expose politicians involved in vote-buying

In a bid to curb vote-buying ahead of the 2023 General Election, Conscientious Youth has tasked the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC and other security agencies to expose youth and politicians involved in the unruly act.

Speaking on the issue of vote-buying, the Executive Director of the youth group, Comrade Oyeyiola George praised the crime commission and Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for their efforts during the Ekiti Governorship election.

Comrade George, however, charged the EFCC not to relent in their efforts to curb buying, adding that politicians and youths involved in the act should be probed.

“Seeing videos online of the EFCC nabbing people for vote-buying during the Ekiti election is encouraging because it commiserates the effort of INEC to ensure a free and fair election.

“However, despite their efforts to curb the incident, youths are seen online displaying money received from vote-buying.

“In this event, I want to task EFCC to arrest and probe the youths and politicians involved in such activities because it is capable of bringing the country to disrepute.

Finally, he urged the youths to desist from such acts, advising them to not sell their conscience.

” With all said and done, I want to plead to the youths to not accept any money from any politician and vote the right.”
