Coalition to hold ethnic nationalities summit in October.

Coalition of ethnic nationalities in the country on Thursday resolved to fix a summit of ethnic groups in the country.

The coalition operating under the aegis of the Ohaneze Youths Council Worldwide (OYC), Coalition of Northern Groups, Ijaw Youth Council, Yoruba Youth Congress, and Niger Delta Youth Congress, said the summit to hold in October, will enable Nigerians discuss a framework for its future in which every citizen will live in peace where his or her rights are protected, opportunities enhanced and future secured.

Reading the communiqué to newsmen at the end of its meeting in Abuja, Mazi Isiguzoro, who represented the OYC said the coalition was determined to forge a country that works for everyone irrespective of ethnic, regional or confessional affiliations.

They also restated their commitment to a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria where the rights of all citizens to live peacefully in any part of the country is guaranteed.

The OYC also reassures all Northerners and members of other ethnic nationalities resident in the East to go about doing their businesses without any fear as the safety of their lives and properties is guaranteed
