Head coach of Gor Mahia of Kenya, Hassan Oktay, is confident his team will edge past their Nigerian opponent, Lobi Stars and book a place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League. The Kenyan Premier League champions will face Lobi Stars in the second leg of their First Round tie at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Saturday.
Oktay’ s charges won the first leg 3-1 last Sunday at the Kasarani International Stadium, Nairobi. Gor Mahia will miss the services of defensive midfielder, Ernest Wendo who is suspended after picking two consecutive bookings in the competition.
Gor Mahia are looking to become the first Kenyan team to progress to the group stages of the Champions League since the new format was adopted, and Oktay is beaming with optimism. The overall winner of the game will proceed to the group stages of Africa’s Premier club competition.
